Vineyard

Located in the Central Otago region, in Bannockburn, the vineyard is planted over three terraces facing west giving it intense all-day sun during the growing season. This exceptional terroir offers a great pinot noir expression, as a reflection of the dramatically beautiful mountains surrounding the estate.

Between 195 and 400 metres above sea level, Bannonckburn is the most highly sought-after terroir in Central Otago thanks to its extreme environment, which is very windy, very hot and very dry, a prevailing continental climate with little precipitation

Anne Escalle

Viticulture

The company’s vision of its future-proof vineyard? To have the lowest possible impact on the environment and preserve the unique natural site that is Central Otago, and to appreciate its beauty and leave it intact for future generations, while simultaneously producing exceptional wines. While respecting local knowledge, Edmond de Rothschild Heritage adds its own know-how into the mix, bringing innovation and reflection as to what a vineyard of precision in Central Otago should be. A vineyard that is perfectly integrated to the local landscape and respectful of the place
