Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2022

The 2021 Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc comes from another cracker Nelson vintage. There are layers of tropical fruit on the nose with passionfruit, melon and fresh basil notes. The palate is well-balanced showing generous fruit weight and lingering flavours, supported by clean acidity leaving a long finish.

The 2020 Seifried Nelson Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of fruit from our Brightwater and Queen Victoria vineyards. Brightwater, 15K from the has very stony soils which helps to restrict vigour in the vines. Our Queen Victoria vineyard is located in the Motueka area in the heart of a region known for its apple orchards, kiwifruits and hops. Our grapes are grown on very stony free draining soils giving lovely fruit clarity and varietal intensity.

Aromatic and fresh Sauvignon Blanc flavours were encouraged prior to vintage through careful canopy management. The fruit was de-stemmed and pressed immediately after harvest and a cool fermentation was initiated in stainless steel tanks to retain the clean aromatic fruit characters.
