Description

This a very aromatic and intensely flavoured wine true to its Marlborough origins. Given the warm harvest conditions, the flavours lean toward ripe tropical fruits, with hints of green fruits and fresh herbs. It is a rich and full-flavoured style with a crisp dry finish which provides freshness and length to the palate.

Product Range: Estate

This range receives the care and attention normally lavished on Reserve wines, the result is a range of elegant, intensely flavoured wines that are extremely food-friendly.

Vineyard

Vineyards in the warm Wairau Valley (52%) and cooler Awatere Valley (48%) were utilized for this wine. The vineyards are planted on a mix of free draining gravel and clay soils which provide both elegance and structure to the blended wine. This was a warm Marlborough harvest with very low yields resulting in grapes with high sugars and wines with unusual richness.

Winemaker

Gordon Russel
